    Hi Brothers!

My Grand Lodge here in New Brunswick, Canada recently renamed a position in Lodge.

    They renamed “Organist” to “Musician”.

It doesn’t seem like a big change but for me, it meant a lot.

I am a professional musician and have been for over 25 years. While I can play organ in a passable way, I am far more proficient on guitar and piano.

As a completely self-indulgent request, would you be into doing a segment on Lodge music?

I am currently building a “Lodge Musician’s Manual” that will feature essays on famous Masonic musicians throughout history, popular hyms and songs commonly used on most Lodges, and a “play-by-play” for musicians to follow during Communications.

The biggest goal is to translate the notated organ music from long ago to a more playable — and easily read — form of sheet music (basic guitar chord charts, for example) to help various Mason musicians to perform various pieces in Lodge.

Thanks again for your show. You have many fans up here in the The Great White North!

    Fraternally,

Hey I really love listening to your podcast, I am a Fellow Craft in a Military Lodge in Ireland and found this interesting given the fact that I’m (slightly) hearing impaired and have to wear hearing aids. I’d love to hear a podcast just about Freemasonry in Ireland.
